First Presbyterian Church

First Presbyterian Church offers many opportunities to be served and led, and to serve and lead. Serving in a ministry is a great way to learn how you are gifted spiritually. By serving, you may (even quickly!) discover what you are gifted by God to do, and what you are passionate about. You can try various ministries without feeling like you are signing on for life. Just communicate with the leader about your availability and interest. You can even suggest a “trial period.” If you are not sure where to begin connecting, you may contact Autumn Clark at or 672.0370.

The following is a listing of ministries of the church and contact information. This list is provided to show you not only what is available to you in terms of being led and served, but also where you might be able to serve and lead others. Ministries are listed in alphabetical order. Be aware that ministries may require a background check on volunteers before assignment.

Ask any of our volunteers and they’ll tell you, volunteering with Scouting is as rewarding to them as it is meaningful to the kids. Watching kids grow is one thing — leading them through the process is a whole new experience all together. Serve with Cub Scout Pack 11, Boy Scout Troop 11, or Sea Scout Ship 11 at First Presbyterian.

Women’s Ministry

Sanctuary Flower Ministry
This committee takes the flower arrangements from the Sunday Worship service and breaks them down into smaller arrangements and delivers them to members of our church who are elderly, infirm, under hospice care or hospitalized. The flowers can be broken down on Sunday afternoon, Monday, or Tuesday morning, and can all be delivered to any facility the volunteer chooses. Seasonal Flower Decorating This committee plans and orders seasonal flowers and lovingly decorates our church for the Christmas and Easter holidays. Come join other women for a short period of time to make our church beautiful as we celebrate Christmas and Easter.
Cup of Caring Tea Ministry
Comforting women with the comfort we ourselves have received from God, this unique ministry hosts various teas for cancer survivors, teachers, care givers, etc. If you have the gift of service, hospitality, and mercy, you will love being a part of this ministry.

Women’s Prayer Ministry
A group of women gathers each Thursday morning at 8:00am in the Women’s Ministry Room 212 to pray for the needs of our church. This is a powerful opportunity to participate in life-changing prayer for our church and our denomination, the ECO.
